Oreo Chocolate Truffles

Dark Chocolate dipped rich delicacy...is there any need to buy truffles from stores???

Ingredients :-
  1. 2 packets of oreo cookies (about 130 grams of each packet), you can decide the no. based on the net quantity.
  2. 1 packet of cream cheese
  3. I found a very good replacement for cream cheese…if you are very diet conscious then this is a solution…just place some curds in a thin cloth say about 500ml in a very thin cotton cloth (make sure the cloth is really thin so that the water from the curds can be drained easily and perfectly), now tie the cloth above sink or a container for about an hour or two until the entire water from the curds is drained and we get a very thick rich creamy paste of cream remaining. Take out the drained curd from cloth…The substituent obtained is a very rich thick curd cream “chakka” (which makes our lovely Indian dessert “Shrikhand” flavored deliciously with mango turning into “AmraKhand” and more).Make sure you just stir the cream little before usage to soften it a bit.
  4. Compound dark or mild chocolate ( I prefer dark chocolate it simply tastes great).
  5. Compound white chocolate (optional).
  6. Toppings of your choice.

Methodology :-
1)      Take out all the cookies in the blender, mix it well until it turns into a fine powder.
2)      In a bowl start mixing the powder with the cream cheese or the suggested curd cream ( ooo the process is really messy…but got to get over it).
3)      After the two are really mixed well into a fine paste, Refrigerate it for half an hour or sooo. It is done so that hands don’t turn sticky while converting the paste into fine balls.
4)      Get out the mix from the refrigerator and start preparing small fine balls from it.
5)      After all the balls are done, place the balls for about 10 mins in the refrigerator, to achieve certain firmness to the balls, meanwhile start melting the semi-sweet chocolate pieces by double boiler system, i.e. take some water in a pan and boil it, place another pan on the boiling water pan, add the chocolate pieces to the pan, melt the chocolate on medium low flame so that the paste doesn’t burn, after the chocolate turns into smooth thin paste turn off the range, the paste is all set to proceed.
6)      Now start dipping the oreo balls in chocolate paste, make sure that the balls are properly and neatly covered with the paste. These balls can again be smeared with white chocolate paste above the dark chocolate if desired…it tastes good J
7)      Interesting toppings could be used over these prepared truffles, as per your choice… Various toppings are available these days in market, I prefer the nut powder prepared in the blender at home. Your  chocolate truffles are all set to merry J believe me it tastes yummy…
This was the most delightfulll recipe for the eve…”Center of Attraction” as they were the one’s conveying the lovely B’day wishes to the special one J
